 shockwave Therapy

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and myoskeletal tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions. The energy promotes regeneration and reparative processes of the bones, tendons and other soft tissues.

HOW DOES SHOCKWAVE THERAPY WORK?

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive alternative to surgery pain from many common conditions. Shockwave treatment uses pressure waves focused on the site of the pain or injury to stimulate the body’s own natural healing mechanisms, “jump-starting” the healing process. It may also help to heal damaged tissue.

Generally 3-6 treatments are performed on a weekly basis for musculoskeleton concerns, and each one takes approximately 10-30 minutes, depending on the area treated and the amount of inflammation present.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Shockwave is useful for heel pain from plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, LBP, trigger finger, calves and hamstring tightness, Baker cysts, partial meniscus tears, Morton neuroma, patellar tendinitis, lateral epicondylitis, neuropathies, piriformis syndrome, shin splints, stress fractures, non union fractures, ED, cellulite, stretch mars and more men experiencing ED (erectile dysfunction).

WHO WOULD BENEFITS FROM SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?

There are a number of benefits to Shockwave treatment for musculoskeletal injuries. It is a non-invasive procedure—which means there is no cutting of the skin. It also requires no anesthesia. This means no time out of work or down-time following the procedure.

Do you experience erectile dysfunction?
Shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction uses sound waves to increase blood flow in the penis, so there’s no surgery, drugs, or invasive procedures. Shockwave Therapy is a safe, effective alternative to Viagra and other oral ED medications. In fact, it has proven to enhance sexual performance without any side effects. Men often experience improved erections within 24 hours of treatment. This treatment is performed by our Director of Functional Medicine, Dr. Michelle Leary at Vida Integrated Health in Ravenna.
