Vida Now Tests for COVID-19 Antibodies
Vida Now Offers IgG Antibody Testing
Vida Integrated Health is now offering antibody testing for patients who may have experienced COVID-19 respiratory symptoms at least 14 days prior to testing. The use of antibody testing may help to determine who has actually been infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and who may have been infected and only developed mild symptoms or was completely asymptomatic and recovered.
For Antibody Testing At Vida Integrated Health You Have Two Options:
A Telemedicine consultation from the comfort of your home with one of our Functional Medicine Physicians to obtain your Lab order and then you will go to one of the many Quest Diagnostics Locations to complete your blood draw for the test.
An In-clinic visit at Vida Ravenna (across from UVillage) to obtain your lab order and complete your blood draw for the test. All in one visit.
Abbott’s test helps to detect the IgG antibody to SARS-CoV-2. An antibody is a protein that the body produces in the late stages of infection and may remain for up to months and possibly years after a person has recovered. Detecting these IgG antibodies will help determine if a person was previously infected with the virus that causes COVID-19.
Abbott first made the test available as part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s notification without an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) pathway that was outlined for COVID-19 diagnostic tests during the public health emergency. Since then, they have received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA and CE Mark in Europe.
IgG Antibody Testing May Be Covered By Your Insurance
Most major insurances are covering Covid19 Antibody testing. At Vida, we will provide you with a complimentary insurance verification and let you know if you will be covered by insurance. Just provide all of your insurance information when you schedule your test.
