While eczema and psoriasis present differently, they share some of the following commonalities: barrier disruption, inflammation, dysbiosis, leaky gut, food triggers, and nutritional deficiencies.

Traditional dermatological approaches target inflammation topically with steroids or internally with immune suppressing agents. While these can be effective and appear to resolve the area of inflamed skin there is often recurrence elsewhere or rebound flares when these medications are discontinued. Our goal in functional medicine is to explore what is causing an overactive immune response and take a holistic approach to address all of the body systems involved.

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is the most common inflammatory skin condition in the US. It is a disease of barrier dysfunction and inflammation both externally and internally. Individuals may have a genetic predisposition that leads to an impaired skin barrier. Often people with eczema also suffer from allergies and asthma, this is referred to as the atopic triad.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition that accelerates the life cycle of skin cells, causing cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin. The extra skin cells form scales and red patches that are itchy and sometimes painful. There are many conditions that coexist with psoriasis including cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, and IBD. These comorbidities share the common thread of inflammation which contributes to their pathologies.

What are Skin Conditions?

Skin conditions encompass a broad range of disorders affecting the skin, each with unique symptoms and causes, including infections, genetic factors, immune system dysfunctions, and environmental triggers.


Nutrition significantly impacts skin health, as certain vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can influence the development, severity, and management of skin conditions by supporting skin repair, reducing inflammation, and enhancing the skin’s natural defenses.

What's included in my concierge membership?

Your Functional Medicine Concierge Membership can be billed annually or monthly. If you enroll annually, you will receive 1 month free of charge!

Your membership includes:

  • Preferred provider appointments within 48 hours of request. This means you see YOUR doctor when you need them.
  • Longer appointment times with your provider.
  • Same-day appts for acute/sick care.
  • Unlimited Messaging through your FM Patient portal with your medical team to stay connected between appointments. 
  • Discounted services for IV appointments, injection services, and procedures.
  • Discounts on supplements online at Vida’s Fullscript Online Dispensary.
  • B12 Shots- 4 Per Year.
  • Dexa Body Composition Scan – 1 Per Year.
  • Recommended meal/food plan.

What's not included in my concierge membership?

There are some costs that are not included in your membership and may require out-of-pocket expenses:

  • Lab tests: Many tests are covered partially or fully by insurance, but some may require a copay or may not be covered at all. Specialty tests (like stool, urine, and saliva) are not included in your membership or covered by insurance.
  • Health care services outside of what is specified above such as vaccinations, urgent care, MRIs, etc.
  • Any Sexual Health, Longevity Medicine, Emsella or PRP treatment is not covered in your membership or by insurance.
  • Any services at Vida with our Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, Physical Therapists and Acupuncturists are not included in your membership.
Do you require a concierge membership for all Functional Medicine services at Vida?

No. You are not required to enroll in Vida’s Concierge Functional Medicine Membership for all of Functional Medicine services at Vida. The following services DO NOT require a concierge membership:

1. Nutrition services
2. IV Therapy or Injections
3. Regenerative Medicine for MSK (Platelet-rich Plasma & Trigger point injections)
4. Sexual Health & Longevity Medicine Treatments
5. The Emsella Chair- Pelvic Floor Therapy (offered at Vida Ravenna)

Do I require a membership for nutrition services?

No, you are not required to enroll in our concierge membership for Functional Nutrition services. To learn more about Vida’s Functional Nutrition or to schedule a nutrition consultation click HERE

Can my Vida Physician be my Primary Care Provider (PCP)?

Yes! All of our Functional Medicine Physicians at Vida can be designated as your Primary Care Provider. Please contact our clinic for your Physicians NPI# that you will need to designate them as your PCP to your insurance carrier.

Does my Vida Physician require to be my PCP? No. Our physicians specialize in Functional Medicine and can work with your PCP for your care.

Do you offer family memberships?

Yes! Vida offers a 10% Discount for family members with all concierge membership options. This discount will apply to the second member of the Family Membership and every member after that.

Will my insurance still be billed?

Yes! We will still bill your insurance. You will be responsible for all copays, deductibles and co-insurance as per your insurance plan for your office visits.

If we are not in network with your insurance or you do not have insurance, then there will be an out-of-pocket fee for your office visit of $250 for your initial visit and $175 for follow up visits. This fee is on top of your membership fee.

How does Vida bill members?

When signing up for membership, we give you the option to either pay monthly or annually. If you pay annually, you will receive a discounted rate of one month at no charge. Both monthly and annual enrollments will require your credit card information.

If you choose to pay monthly, you’ll be charged the first monthly payment on the date you sign up, and every month following that. If you choose to pay annually, you’ll be charged the total amount upon signup. Invoices will be emailed to you for download as a PDFs for your records.

What if I dont have insurance?

If we are not in network with your insurance or you do not have insurance, then there will be an out-of-pocket fee for every office visit.

Can I use FSA or HSA to cover my membership?

Many of our members use their FSA/HSA to pay for clinical fees, specialty tests, and supplements. However, we recommend checking with your FSA/HSA company/carrier for more information and details as to how you can use these funds.

In case there is any additional documentation you need, we’re more than happy to help get you the necessary paperwork.

How do I cancel my membership?

All Subscribers have the opportunity to cancel their membership at any point in their 12-month agreement.  The cancellation will take 30 days from written notification. To request cancellation, email FM@thinkvida.com

If you make monthly membership payments for your membership, the monthly installments will stop 30 days after notification and any payment scheduled in the 30-day period will process as normal. Your membership will remain active during this time and through the end of the period that has been covered by the final payment.

If you pay for your membership annually and decide to cancel it, your membership will end 30 days after you give written notification. Additionally, you will receive a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the year, which will be calculated based on the non-discounted monthly rate.

If Subscriber withdraws their membership and later decides to rejoin within 12 months of cancellation, there will be a rejoin fee of $150, in addition to the regular membership fee. If your preferred provider’s panel is full, you will be placed on a waitlist.

How do I schedule IV therapy, injections or procedures?

If you are wanting to schedule a consultation for IV therapy, injections or procedures with Vida Functional Medicine simply complete our online contact us form and our FM schedulers will arrange for your consultation with one of our Functional Medicine physicians.

If I cancel my membership, can i rejoin at a later time?

Yes, but there is a $150 rejoining fee if you decide to reactivate your membership if there is availability on your physicians patient panel.

Does Vida accept Medicare or Medicaid plans for Functional Medicine services?

Vida does not accept Medicare (supplement or replacement plans), Medicaid or Apple Health, Molina or Aetna plans for Functional Medicine visits at this time.

What happens if my insurance changes?

If you need to switch insurance providers, please inform your Vida medical team as soon as possible. You can either let the front desk know directly, or email our concierge department at fm@thinkvida.com

Please be advised that if your insurance coverage becomes inactive and we’re unable to bill them, you will be responsible for paying the fees for your medical visits. In addition, you will be switched to our cash pay fees until your insurance is reinstated or you get coverage elsewhere.

Does my membership automatically renew?

Your Annual concierge membership is set to auto-renew every year. One month before your membership is up for renewal, we’ll send you an email to discuss your renewal options.

Your monthly concierge membership is on a month to month basis. 30 days notice is required for any changes to your monthly membership.

Do you limit the number of patients in your Functional Medicine practice?

Yes, in order to provide all the services included in your membership, we must limit our patient count.
