Ashley Henriques, DPT
Ashley is originally from northeast Ohio where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Mount Union before obtaining a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Walsh University. This career trajectory was sparked after she sustained a knee injury during an indoor soccer game and her soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball participation had to be put on hold. Ashley underwent months of physical therapy for an ACL reconstruction and found this to be a very rewarding profession.
Since 2015 she has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics where she strives to give every patient individualized treatment plans based on a comprehensive physical exam and meaningful functional goals. With treatment Ashley believes physical therapy is most successful when education is used to reframe how we understand pain and injuries, and when exercise is gradually progressed to rebuild strong and efficient movement patterns. Her athletic background aids in her approach to assess and treat athletes, runners, and weekend warriors.
When not in the clinic Ashley stays active by weight lifting and cycling around the city. Ashley and her wife are avid foodies and can be found sampling restaurants, breweries, and wineries on the weekends, all while cheering on Cleveland or Ohio State sports teams.
